Street performers or street laborers --take your pick-- are said to be a too-easy target for street photography. My concern with these so-called rules of what not to photograph --or does not count as a worthy photograph-- is that it sort of robs of the joy of simply capturing what one finds interesting. Photography, for me at least, is not so much what you photograph as much as how it is photographed and timing, of course.
Born and raised in New York State. Luis Arcadio De Jesus has been residing in Mexico City as of the year 2000. His interest in photography began at an early age, but did not begin to take root until his teens. In 2006 Luis began to take his photography more seriously. His work has been utilized in a variety of media by the likes of Discovery, Random House, Oxford University Press, The New Yorker Magazine, The University of Indiana, to name a few. Most of his work is focused on his experiences in Mexico and his travels back to his native home of the United States.
